R Ashwin believes that Australian pace duo of Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc can create a stir during the IPL Auction in Dubai on 19 December. The Indian cricket team player reckons the Aussies could even go for over Rs 14 crore after their ODI World Cup triumph on Indian soil. Ashwin, part of Rajasthan Royals squad, made multiple predictions ahead of the IPL Mini-Auction.

Ashwin tipped allrounder Shahrukh Khan, who was released by Punjab Kings, to fetch a price between Rs 10 and 14 crores in a bidding war.
Spinner Ashwin predicted New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra, who made a name for himself at the 50-over World Cup, could fetch bids between Rs 4-7 crore. Other predictions were: Harshal Patel (Rs 7-10 crore), Gerald Coetzee (Rs 7-10 crore), Rovman Powell (Rs 4-7 crore).
Surprisingly, Ashwin expects Travis Head, Player of the Match from the World Cup final, to not go for more than Rs 4 crore. Ashwin believes Umesh Yadav, not part of India’s plans anymore, could also go for Rs 4-7 crore.

Ashwin will enter IPL 2024 with a record of 171 wickets in 197 matches at an average of 28.67, strike rate of 24.53 and economy of 7.01. Handy with the bat, he has accumulated 714 runs throughout his IPL career with a fifty to his name coming in the 2022 season.
