The second season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is set to commence on February 23. The franchise tournament is credited for boosting the popularity of women’s cricket in recent times. With just one more week left for the competition to begin, ticket sales for the Bengaluru matches have gone live today at 11 AM. The online tickets can be purchased through the BookMyShow app and website. The news was broken through an X post on the WPLT20 account, with the caption, “Bengaluru, Are you ready to witness WPL Season 2 from the stands? Tickets for all Bengaluru matches go LIVE today at 11 am on BookMyShow.”
Similar to the last season, five teams will feature in the WPL this year. They will play each other twice during the group stage, which will be followed by two knockout games- an Eliminator and the final. The 2024 edition of the tournament will see a total of 22 matches. All group-league fixtures till March 4 will be hosted at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The ticket price for these games is set at Rs 100, as per the BookMyShow app.

The remaining matches of the 2024 WPL will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The Eliminator and the final will be held at this venue as well. Every match of this WPL season is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM IST.
The opening match of the 2024 WPL will see reigning champions Mumbai Indians lock horns with last year’s runners-up Delhi Capitals in Bengaluru. Led by Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur, the Mumbai-based franchise will look to make the most out of the contest as they hope to make a positive start to the title defence.
The Mumbai Indians skipper spoke about their plans for the new season during a press conference on Friday. Kaur said, “We just want to do what we did last year, keep things simple and enjoy our cricket. We hope to give all the players clear roles so that they can go out there and perform. I know a lot of eyeballs will be on us this time since we won last year.”
As almost half of the tournament will be held in Bengaluru this year, Royal Challengers Bangalore will look to make a strong statement. The Smriti Mandhana-led side managed only two victories in their eight league matches last season and finished in the second-last spot in the points table.
